Workplace Assessments

A Workplace assessment is a “proactive” way of taking the temperature.  It is a process that gathers information relating to the culture, practices, or behaviours in the workplace.  An assessment can identify the root cause(s) of any conflicts or issues and look at the operations overall in order to identify possible areas of improvement.

Areas that will tell you if you need a workplace assessment done:  

. unresolved conflict

. poor moral

. dysfunctional teams

. productivity problems

. high turnover of employees

. or just the good old rumour mill working overtime.

Workplace Investigations

If your organization is faced with information that comes forward and suggests that inappropriate workplace behaviour has occurred or is occurring, this is a hot spot.  A hot spot maybe anyone of the following:

. a breach of your policy

. a problem that creates a legal liability for your organization

.  a specific allegation of harassment or discrimination

A Workplace Investigation is a fair, thorough, timely and confidential fact-finding process to determine whether certain types of workplace events have occurred. The deliverable is to find out “what” happened.

Mediation

The goal of mediation is to reach a mutually beneficial agreement or an understanding through open discussion and resolution. When a conflict in the workplace or any relationship impacts productivity, or the welfare or well-being of employees or individuals, it should not be ignored. 

Mediation allows the people involved in the dispute to have a say about how the situation is handled in a controlled manner with someone who can guide the conversation towards positive negotiation for change.
